Open-Source Repositories

Code

Through permissive licensing, we ensure that you are able to fire up your own instances of our web applications should you wish to. However, if you choose to go down the self-hosting rote, please note that we cannot provide you with support. Unfortunately, from experience we have found that a single self-hosting user can end up soaking up as much of our limited time as the rest of our users combined. We will endeavour to keep all our readme files and other instructions as up to date as possible to facilitate this, but we apologise if some aspects of these extensive files fall out of date from time to time.

For most users we strongly advise that you rather simply sign up for an account on our servers. It’s significantly quicker and easier, and most importantly – it’s completely free!

Data

Thanks to the gracious permission of the participating organisations, we have released a large chunk of aerial data that we have gathered over the years as the Aerial Elephant Dataset. This dataset consists of 15 511 African bush elephants in their natural habitat across 2101 images – imaged with a consistent methodology over a range of background types, resolutions and times-of-day. Our hope is that others may train improved elephant/animal detectors on this dataset or find new ways to use this data.

This dataset is described in detail in the accompanying CVPR DOAI workshop paper:
