Aerial Elephant Dataset

Data

We have released a large chunk of the data that we have gathered over the past 6 years as the Aerial Elephant Dataset. That dataset is described in detail in the CVPR DOAI workshop paper here.

The dataset consists of 2101 images containing a total of 15 511 African bush elephants in their natural habitats, imaged with a consistent methodology over a range of background types, resolutions and times-of-day.

Our hope is that others may train improved elephant detectors on this dataset or find new ways to use this data.

We do intend to release further updates to this data over time as we add to our own internal datasets. If you have specific requirements, please contact us to discuss.
